Sparklayer integration

An agent that takes B2B orders

Ipster recognises the business customer by phone number, tells them the status of their orders and looks up products with their own customer price. If the customer wants to order, the agent drafts an order and only places it after the customer has confirmed it.

What the agent does

The actions the agent performs in Sparklayer

You choose which actions the agent may use. Placing a new order is off by default. In web chat the agent can only search products.

Recognise the caller

At the start of the call the agent looks up the customer in Shopify by the caller's number and links them to Sparklayer. It receives that number automatically.

Latest orders and quotes

The agent gives the customer's recent orders or quotes with order number, date, status and total.

Look up order details

For one order by order number, the agent says what is in it, the total, the delivery address and the shipments.

Products with customer price

The agent searches by name or item number and gives the stock. If the customer is recognised, their own customer price comes with it, including tiered prices.

Draft an order

The agent drafts a new order and calculates prices, shipping costs and total. Nothing is placed yet. A PO number, a reference and a requested delivery date can be included.

Place the order after confirmation

The agent reads out the draft and only places the order after the customer has clearly said yes.

You decide

You stay in control

Choose the actions

Switch each action on or off, from viewing orders to placing a new order.

Choose the payment method

New orders go on account or by invoice, whichever you set.

Existing orders stay untouched

The agent only reads existing orders. It also only shows orders of the caller themselves.

How to connect it

Connected in three steps

01

Enter your Sparklayer details

You find the site ID in the Sparklayer dashboard under Account, and the client ID and secret under Configuration and API. Choose whether you work with the live or the test environment.

02

Connect your Shopify store

Enter the store address and paste the Admin API token of your own Shopify app with the permissions read_customers and read_products.

03

Choose the actions and test

Decide what the agent may do, tell it in the prompt when to use it and test the connection.

Placing a new order is off by default. Switch it on yourself if the agent may order. The API key in Sparklayer needs access to the Purchasing API to read orders.

Frequently asked questions

About the Sparklayer integration

The agent can recognise the caller, show the latest orders or quotes, look up the details of one order and search products with stock and customer price. It can also place a new order. You choose which actions are on.

You need the site ID, the client ID and the client secret from Sparklayer, plus the details of the Shopify store underneath. Customers and products come from Shopify, so you create your own app there with the permissions read_customers and read_products.

The agent first drafts an order with lines, shipping costs and total and reads it out. Only when the customer clearly says yes is the order placed. A PO number, a reference and a requested delivery date can be included.

No. Existing orders are only read. The agent can only place a new order.

Then the agent shows no orders, because they can only be seen for a recognised customer. That also applies to a customer who is in Shopify but not in Sparklayer. What the agent says then, you decide in the prompt.

Yes, with one limit. In web chat the agent does not know who is writing, so there it can only search products. Customer data is available for the caller themselves on the phone and for a customer on WhatsApp.
